Led by Prof. Mitch LI, Assistant Professor of the Division of Integrative System and Design (ISD), a group of ISD PhD students produced Hong Kong's first batch of 3D printed mooncakes with the HKUST logo using the 3D food printer they designed. The printer can finish producing a mooncake with tailored emblem on it in just 10 minutes.

Team catches prize at first sniff

The HKUST “Fisherly” team, including Year 3 students Leon CHENG and Minjin GU studying Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management (T&M-DDP), won the second runner-up in the Undergraduate section of the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition. The project involved the design of a rapid test kit to test the freshness of edible fish, targeting use by restaurants, fish retailers and consumers.
