Two ESPM PhD Candidates Win 1st and 2nd Place in WAIFC Young Academic Award 2025

We are thrilled to announce that two PhD candidates in Environmental Science, Policy and Management (ESPM) have secured both first and second place at the WAIFC Young Academic Award 2025 and presented their research during the WAIFC Annual General Meeting in Frankfurt.
First Place
Vivi Yuwei LIAO (ESPM PhD candidate)
Winning paper: “Adaptation Finance for Emerging Markets”
Her innovative research sheds light on how sustainable finance can be mobilized to meet the pressing challenges of climate change.
Second Place
Wilson Tsz Shing WAN (ESPM PhD candidate)
Winning paper: “Greenwashing risks in the corporate climate bond markets: Expenditure-based measurement, and its implications for financial market stability.”
His research provides important insights into the risks of greenwashing in climate bond markets and its broader implications for financial stability.
