Prof. RAO Anyi, Assistant Professor in the Division of Arts and Machine Creativity and the Division of Emerging Interdisciplinary Areas, and Mr. Turzo BOSE, MPhil in Integrative Systems and Design student, have been honored on the Forbes’ 2025 30 Under 30 Asia list.

Prof. Rao, listed in the healthcare and science category, was celebrated for his breakthrough research of AI-related technologies for creative industries. The models developed by Prof. Rao “can help creators such as art and film makers generate content, including using AI to change and control lighting in scenes,” according to Forbes’ announcement. Apart from this coveted recognition, Prof. Rao won a Marr Prize for best paper at the International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV) in 2023. The garnered accolades are a testimony of his expertise in AI in creativity, computer vision, and human-computer interaction.

Turzo, listed in the social impact category, was recognized for co-founding Vidi Labs, which helps the visually impaired move independently using wearable cameras and "seeing" AI. The company has developed Seekr, a device packed with depth sensors and scene and text recognition technologies to describe surroundings to the wearer. In 2025, Seekr won a CES Innovation Award in the Accessibility & AgeTech category.

This year’s list features 300 young entrepreneurs, leaders and innovators across the Asia-Pacific region, all under the age of 30, with a bold vision for the future, that is largely powered by artificial intelligence. More than 4,500 candidates were evaluated by the Forbes Asia team and a panel of independent, expert judges on a variety of factors, including but not limited to funding and/or revenue, social and industry impact, product-market fit, inventiveness and potential.

Please join us in congratulating Prof. Rao and Turzo. Their accomplishments bring pride to our AIS community.
