Congratulations to Connie LEE, a Year 3 PhD student in the Division of Integrative Systems and Design (ISD), for her recognition as a Tatler Gen.T Leader of Tomorrow 2024, highlighting her team’s innovative research and entrepreneurial spirit.

Launched in 2016, Tatler Gen.T Leader of Tomorrow identifies young innovators under the age of 40 who have made significant social impact in various fields, including technology, arts, and social entrepreneurship, etc. This recognition extends across six Asian regions, selecting an elite group of individuals who demonstrate exceptional creativity, innovation, and commitment to positive change.

As the founder and CEO of Elevatefoods, Connie has led her team to develop groundbreaking technology of 3D food printing with A.I.-assisted diet, allowing precise control over nutritional content to meet individual dietary needs. By addressing key challenges in nutrition, customization, and sustainability, Elevatefoods’ work represents a significant leap forward in food technology.

Connie's team with Timothy CHAN, XU Yang, Aidan YUAN and POON Wing Yan also secured the Third Prize in Social Enterprise / Cultural & Creative Services (Entrepreneurship Track) at the 10th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for their "AI customized Food Printing Platform For Special Dietary Needs".

Connie’s achievement demonstrates the potential of combining rigorous academic research with entrepreneurial vision to create meaningful change in the world. By successfully balancing her doctoral studies with her role as a technology entrepreneur, Connie serves as an inspiration to fellow students and researchers.
