Jointly organized by the Computational Media and Arts Thrust (CMA) of the Information Hub of HKUST (GZ), the Division of Emerging Interdisciplinary Areas (EMIA) and of HKUST (CWB), the first EMIA cross-campus visit to the CMA Lab was successfully held at the Guangzhou campus of HKUST (GZ) on 31 May and 7 June.
CMA faculty Prof. James SHE, Prof. Zeyu WANG, Prof. David YIP and Prof. Yuyang WANG, as well as outstanding research staff and students, were invited to give presentations, sharing their research progress in the fields of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), AI-generated art, information art and design, and data visualization.
During the visits, the participants were given a tour of the cutting-edge facilities, including the High Bay Research Facility, the Visitor Centre, the CMA Lab, the Dreams Lab and the Metaverse Joint Innovation Laboratory. They also had the opportunity to attend demonstrations by various research teams.
The cross-campus visit provided a valuable opportunity for students, faculty and staff to engage in interdisciplinary exchange and networking across HKUST's campuses.
