In recent interviews on RTHK Radio 1’s “Under the Sun” (太陽底下新鮮事) and “Infinite Future” (未來·無限) programs, Dr. Daniel CHUN, Lecturer in the Division of Arts and Machine Creativity (AMC) and Division of Emerging Interdisciplinary Areas (EMIA), shared insights into his award-winning invention, Articulator.ai, which protects artists’ copyrights while enhancing their creative workflows.

With the growing popularity of digital art, artists face growing risks from unauthorized duplication and identity fraud. To address these challenges, Dr. Chun and his team developed Articulator.ai, an all-in-one platform that combines AI-assisted creation with secure ownership registration. Each artwork is assigned a unique Art ID and recorded in a blockchain-enabled database using W3C-compliant decentralized identifiers (DID:ART and DID.ART domain namespace), ensuring tamper-evident provenance and providing a reliable means of proving ownership in the Art ID Registry. Dr. Chun highlighted that a key innovation of the platform lies in its patented technology, which gives an Art ID to all artwork or creations – allowing them to be traced even when copied or shared. Beyond copyright protection, Articulator.ai also features an integrated generative AI engine, an auction and e-commerce module, enabling artists to authenticate and monetize their creations seamlessly.

By bringing together creation, protection, and commercialization within a single ecosystem, the platform represents a significant advancement in empowering artists in the digital era. The invention was awarded a Gold Medal with Congratulations of the Jury at the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva.

During the broadcasts, Dr. Chun also shared his journey of research and innovation, offering valuable advice to the younger generation interested in entering the field.
