Prof. Julien DE TROULLIOUD DE LANVERSIN, Assistant Professor in the Division of Public Policy (PPOL), has been selected as a fellow of the AI Academic Upskilling Program for Social Scientists at the Oxford Martin AI Governance Initiative (AIGI) under the University of Oxford, recognizing his expertise in international security and technology policy.

This inaugural program brings together an international cohort of 15 to 20 scholars to strengthen social science engagement in AI governance. Through a series of expert-led training sessions and collaborative research activities, fellows will develop the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to research and policy discussions on the governance of artificial intelligence. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between AI policy debates and social science expertise in areas such as governance, regulation, political economy, and international institutions.

With research interests spanning international security, technology policy, and nuclear technologies, Prof. de Troullioud de Lanversin explores how technological developments shape policy and governance outcomes. Combining expertise in both physics engineering and public policy, he bridges technical and policy perspectives in addressing complex challenges. His selection for the fellowship will further enhance his work at the intersection of technology, security, and public policy.
