Students, faculty, and staff from the Academy of Interdisciplinary Studies (AIS) gathered on February 10, 2026, to celebrate the beginning of the Spring semester and the vibrant Chinese New Year. The afternoon was filled with excitement, laughter, and a strong sense of camaraderie within the AIS community.

The celebration kicked off with a warm opening remark from Prof. NING Zhi, Associate Dean (Research and Graduate Studies) of AIS, who shared inspiring insights to motivate everyone for the new semester. This was followed by a traditional Hakka Unicorn dance performance, symbolizing good fortune and warding off adversity as we welcomed the Spring term and the Year of the Horse.

As part of the celebration, a variety of snacks were offered, such as AIS egg cakes, turnip cake, and other Chinese New Year treats, along with prize-winning Fai Chun writing, all of which enhanced the festive spirit. The photo booth was a hit that our participants had captured cherished moments together.

Let’s take this opportunity to wish our AIS community a successful Spring semester and a marvelous Year of the Horse!
