The Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management (T&M-DDP) has successfully launched its first Asia Business Plan Competition (ABPC) in collaboration with the School of Computing at National University of Singapore (NUS) and National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) in this Summer. 

Led by Prof. Betty LIN, 19 T&M-DDP students traveled to Singapore to work with students from NUS and NTHU for an 11-day ABPC themed “Logistics Solutions for ASEAN”. Through the company visits such as the Lab of Bolloré Logistics, master workshops, and mentoring sessions by seasoned entrepreneurs and faculty members namely Dr. Anand Ramchand from NUS Computing and Dr. Ali Ying-Che Hsieh from NTHU, the students were able to develop local contacts and understand the startup ecosystem in Singapore. This experiential learning opportunity also allowed the students to acquire firsthand insights in technological innovation and entrepreneurship. 

Working in a diverse team comprising students from NUS and NTHU, our T&M-DDP students honed their 4Cs: Critical thinking, Cultural Competence, Communications, and Collaboration during the trip. Each team presented the innovative business solutions for logistics in ASEAN at the pitch competition. Apart from the intensive learning and work, the students also carved out time to explore the city, discovering iconic landmarks and savoring the delectable street food in Singapore. 

Building upon the long-running flagship course “T&M International Business Plan Competition” offered by T&M-DDP, ABPC has been designed to offer students from Asia a unique opportunity to work in a multicultural environment to develop an innovative startup business plan, leveraging advance technology and business strategies to create a positive impact on human living conditions.
