30/04/2024
Thumbnail

A group of EVMT students visited Hong Kong's largest secondary sewage treatment facilities in Shatin. The visit showcased the biological treatment (activated sludge) process in daily cleansing 280,000 cubic meter municipal wastewater from Tai Wai, Fo Tan, Shatin and Ma On Shan districts. Students also 'see and smell' the differences of wastewater before and after the treatment process. The visit also presented the master plan of wastewater management policies of the government, as well as the optimization of land use with relocating the treatment facilities to the cavern.
