Mr Langley arrived in Asia over 20 years ago and was the first IT Director for PwC (then Price Waterhouse) when it had just 75 PCs for 1,200 staff. He spent the next five years bringing the company into the modern age and connecting it to PwC globally. He then moved on to become Chief Information Officer, Asia-Pacific, for PwC Consulting, handling the challenge of aligning systems, technologies and processes with a global strategy prior to its spinoff.
Following IBM’s acquisition of PwC Consulting, he spent two years in Sydney managing the transition and overseeing IT for Consulting in Asia-Pacific. He went on to a similar role in Europe during a period of significant change.
For the past three years, Mr Langley has worked at Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission, where he is responsible for the infrastructure and technical architecture teams and involved in all strategic IT projects, including collaboration, analytics, e-discovery and risk. He finds it a fascinating place to work as it is at the heart of the financial markets in Hong Kong, where the only constant is change.
