Freeman TSE Sze-Bok, a Year 2 student from the Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management (T&M-DDP), has been awarded the Innovation and Technology Scholarship 2026, highlighting his exceptional talent and passion for innovation and technology.
Rigorously selected by the Awardee Selection Committee, Freeman excelled among a competitive pool of applicants in the “Business and Financial Technology” area. Pursuing a BEng in Computer Science with an extended major in Artificial Intelligence alongside a BBA, Freeman demonstrated not only his academic excellence and strong passion for innovation and technology, but also innovative thinking and a sense of social responsibility.
Since 2011, the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC), HSBC and The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) have jointly launched the Innovation and Technology Scholarship, injecting new impetus into local innovation and technology (I&T) development by nurturing undergraduates with a passion for technological innovation.
Every year, 25 outstanding university students are selected to receive the Scholarship of up to HK$150,000 and participate in a series of elite nurturing programmes over the coming year including opportunities of studying at renowned universities overseas or in the Chinese Mainland, deepening their understanding of the global I&T ecosystem. Industry leaders will serve as mentors, guiding the next generation of I&T leaders with their knowledge and wisdom. Awardees can also gain first-hand industry experience and expand their professional networks through overseas/mainland attachments, mentorship and service projects, and internships at local technology enterprises or government departments.
As we celebrate Freeman’s success, we look forward to seeing how he will leverage this opportunity to drive innovation and make a positive impact on our society.
