It is Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management (T&M-DDP)’s tradition to hold a leadership training camp at the beginning of the new school year for all new students to know each other better, understand oneself more, develop leadership skills as well as having FUN.
This year, the 2-day 1-night leadership training camp took place at Sai Kung in late August. The rainy weather did not lower the passion of both students and trainers, they tried their best to finish every task and enjoyed sweating in the wild.
Upon arrival, trainers gave lectures on leadership components and what a good leader is. Students tested and reflected what they learnt about leadership through playing various games.
Students were required to make a peer mascot with recycled materials as one of their team members to represent each team. Students introduced their new peers and explain how it represented the team. Students then carried the new peers throughout the coasteering which was a big challenge to keep them in one piece while walking or swimming along a rocky coastline.
Kayaking is another thrilling journey that requires students to show their courage, confidence, planning skills and team work. Students were excited to complete the journey with teammates successfully.
At the end, trainers conducted a debriefing for students to review their performance and reflect what they learnt to conclude the leadership training camp.
