A Gold Medal with Congratulations of the Jury was awarded to the team led by Prof. YEUNG King-Lun, Professor of the Division of Environment and Sustainability (ENVR), for their innovative method of controlling algal growth in water. Without relying on heavy metals or antibiotics, their multi-functional delivery system uses inorganic matrices for dosing dissolvable sodium chlorite to effectively eliminate harmful microbes and algae, significantly enhancing water quality.
