On February 12, the Division of Public Policy (PPOL) at HKUST hosted an engaging seminar "Sophia's Talk", featuring two distinguished female scholars: Prof. Sophia LEE Seung-yoon, Professor of the Department of Social Welfare at Chung-Ang University and former Vice Chairperson of the Presidential Committee on Youth Policy Coordination (2020-2022) in the Prime Minister’s Office of the Republic of Korea, and Prof. Sophia CHAN Siu-chee, Professor of the School of Public Health at HKU and former Secretary for Food and Health (2017-2022) for the Hong Kong SAR Government.

The speakers shared invaluable insights on how their experiences in academia merged into policy practice. Moderated by Prof. Alex HE Jingwei, Associate Professor of PPOL and Acting Director of the Institute for Public Policy (IPP), the speakers and attendees engaged in heated discussions on critical social and health policy issues in today's era.
