Get an inside look into the great mind of Prof. Kei May LAU (Research Professor, Division of Emerging Interdisciplinary Areas), in an enlightening interview with Light: Science & Applications. 

 

Recently honored as a member of the US National Academy of Engineering (NAE) for her significant contributions to “photonics and electronics based on III-V semiconductors on silicon”, Prof. LAU shares her deep insights on the evolution of technologies of LEDs, lasers, challenges of hetero-epitaxy, and the future of micro-LEDs and quantum dot lasers.

 

From her journey as a pioneering woman in engineering to her commitment to mentorship and academia, she also provides a unique perspective on advancing female representation in science, and advice to young professionals.
