A remarkable gathering of 55,000 visitors filled the HKUST campus during the Information Day for Undergraduate Admissions 2024 on November 2, demonstrating unprecedented interest in the university's programs.
The Academy of Interdisciplinary Studies (AIS) organized a variety of activities for prospective students. The admissions talks on Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management (T&M-DDP), Environmental Management and Technology (EVMT), Integrative Systems and Design (ISD), Individualized Interdisciplinary Major (IIM) and Extended Majors provided a comprehensive overview of each interdisciplinary program, showcasing the unique features, diverse learning opportunities and innovative teaching approaches of our programs. Our Associate Dean (Undergraduate Studies), Prof. Arthur LAU, also delivered a thematic talk about “Learning without Boundaries”.
Interactive taster lectures and workshops by T&M-DDP, EVMT and ISD drew enthusiastic attendees eager to experience our curriculum firsthand. Students even had a chance to visit ISDworks! and Design Studio, where they enjoyed a VR experience during the ISD lab tour and had a glimpse of interesting inventions in the making. The AI photo booth also became a major attraction, with long queues of visitors excited to envision themselves as future leaders in various styles.
The vibrant atmosphere at our program booths facilitated meaningful interactions between prospective students and their parents, current students, alumni, and faculty members, creating an environment where experiences were shared and questions were answered, inspiring visitors to become part of the AIS community.
