The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has triumphed in the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, showcasing outstanding achievements and surpassing previous records with 36 teams wining a total of 36 awards. These include the Prize of the Chinese Delegation for Invention and Innovation, four Gold Medals with Congratulations of the Jury, and multiple Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals.
The Gold Medal with Congratulations of the Jury winners include groundbreaking research on Alzheimer's therapeutics by President Prof. Nancy IP, advanced photovoltaic smart window for thermal insulation, led by Prof. Changying XIANG, Assistant Professor from the Division of Integrative Systems and Design (ISD), cementless eco-bricks derived from municipal solid wastes, and rebar tying robot.
The AI-generated Food with 3D Printing Solution and Simultaneous Infrared Heating developed by our ISD postgraduate research students under the guidance of Prof. Mitch LI, Assistant Professor from ISD, was also featured as one of HKUST’s inventions and honored with Silver Medal.
