On June 14, 2024, the Academy of Interdisciplinary Studies (AIS) hosted "A Day at AIS" event, offering high school students a glimpse into university life. The event consisted of engaging activities catered to prospective JUPAS and Direct Entry applicants, providing a comprehensive campus experience.

The day kicked off with an informative AIS overview by Prof. Arthur LAU, followed by a campus tour led by Student Ambassadors that allows prospective students to explore HKUST facilities. The heart of the event was our experiential taster workshops, showcasing AIS' diverse offerings and innovative teaching methods:

• Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management (T&M-DDP): Problem Solving with Root Cause Analysis Taster Workshop by Dr. Daniel CHUN
• Environmental Management and Technology (EVMT): Game workshop “From Farm to Fridge: Tackling Milk's Environmental Challenges Through Lifecycle Management” by Dr. Meike SAUERWEIN
• Integrative Systems and Design (ISD): Sketching workshop by Mr. Brian LAU

The event concluded with a lunch buffet, allowing students to mingle with AIS faculty and current students. This informal setting was a great scenario for everyone to ask questions and get the inside scoop on the life at AIS.

"A Day at AIS" offered prospective students an immersive experience on campus, highlighting AIS’ interdisciplinary programs and vibrant community. We look forward to welcoming many of the participants as future AIS students!
