Nearly 40 high school applicants of the Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management (T&M-DDP) joined the Industry Forum and Dinner on 8 June 2016, and had an insightful exchange with industry leader, faculty, alumni and current students.

To facilitate current and high school students to gain insight of future career prospects, Mr. Ira Dhalawong, Executive Director, Financial Services Advisory, Hong Kong Digital Lead, Ernst & Young Advisory Services Limited was invited to inspire the students about what year 2021 and beyond looks like when they graduate from university, key technologies driving market disruptions across Finance and other industries. Students expressed strong interest in the subject and showed eagerness to prepare for an exciting but challenging future.  From T&M-DDP’s past 8 batches of graduate employment history, on average, 27% enter the Financial Services Industry, 14% enter Consulting Industry and 14% enter IT industry. Hence, these students could identify with the picture that Ira painted for them about their future.

Prof. Chi Ming CHAN (T&M-DDP Program Co-director), Prof. Betty LIN (T&M-DDP Associate Director), Mr. Graham YOUNG (T&M-DDP Communication Tutor), alumni and current students mingled with high school students and answer their questions about the program, study life and real working environment.

It was an excellent opportunity for current and high school students to exchange with industry professional, faculty and alumni in person and find out what they really want to pursue in university study and how they can better prepare themselves for the future development.
