The “Green Guardian” team - Bonnie CHAN, Donica CHEN, Angela WU, students of the Environmental Management and Technology program (EVMT); Charles KEUNG, student of the Sustainable and Green Finance program (SGFN); and Moses WAN, student of the Risk Management and Business Intelligence program (RMBI) - won the Best Business Model: Most Feasible and Quick-win Solution in 2024 EMAHK Waste Challenge: Innovate to Eliminate, a competition to tackle real-world waste management problems organized by The Environmental Management Association of Hong Kong Limited.
Charles KEUNG expressed, “We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our case sponsors, particularly the Nan Fung Group, which sponsored our case, as well as the organizer, EMAHK. Without their unwavering support and seamless coordination, we would not have been able to fully benefit from the insightful site visits and presentations. The judges also provided invaluable feedback, which will help us further refine our ideas. We are excited about the upcoming waste charging scheme, which will enable us to monetize some of the positive impacts and quantify the return on investment (ROI). Special thanks to EVMT Program Co-Director Prof. Arthur LAU for his insightful suggestions on the internal use of receipts in restaurants.”
Congratulations to the team!
