Dr. DING Yucheng and Prof. SU Hui Secure Funding in the Third Round of the RAISe+ Scheme

Dr. DING Yucheng, PhD graduate in Individualized Interdisciplinary Program (Microelectronics)*, and Prof. SU Hui, Chair Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the Department of Ocean Science, and the Division of Environment and Sustainability, have both successfully secured funding in the third round of the Research, Academic and Industry Sectors One‑Plus (RAISe+) Scheme launched by the Innovation and Technology Commission.

 

This achievement not only contributes to HKUST’s leading performance among local universities in the total number of funded projects, but also exemplifies AIS’s commitment to driving interdisciplinary breakthroughs and collaborations that deliver real-world impact.

 

The RAISe+ funded projects led by AIS faculty and graduate (in alphabetical order of surnames):

  • Next-Gen Perovskite-Based Visual Sensors: Empowering AI Perception in Industry, Healthcare and Autonomous Driving
    Project Leader: Dr. DING Yucheng, PhD graduate in Individualized Interdisciplinary Program (Microelectronics)* (2025)
  • Project Feilian: Next-gen Cost Effective Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Satellite Constellation Empowering a Global Climate Resilient Economy
    Project Leader: Prof. SU Hui, Chair Professor of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the Department of Ocean Science, the Division of Environment and Sustainability

 

Launched in October 2023, RAISe+ aims to unleash potential of local universities in transformation and commercialization of R&D outcomes, and facilitate relevant collaboration among the Government, industries, universities, and research sectors.
