The Chinachem Group (CCG) established the Chinachem PrimeMovership Scholarship in 2020 to support up to 20 high-achieving students each year from the Division of Integrative Systems and Design (ISD) with innovative technology design skills and entrepreneurial potential.

The scholarship presentation and project showcase were held on March 25. CCG's CEO, Ar Donald Choi; Chief Business Impact Officer, Ms. Sylvia Chung; Managing Director of Corporate Development, Mr. Damien Wu; HKUST's Vice-President for Institutional Advancement, Professor Yang Wang; Vice-President for Administration and Business, Professor Ting Chuen Pong; ISD faculty members and the scholarship awardees attended the event.

Professor Wang expressed gratitude in his welcoming speech on behalf of the University to CCG for their continued support for ISD, while Ar Donald Choi shared his belief that students are the future, and encouraged them to be bold and innovative in solving problems.

The event included certificate presentations to scholarship awardees and their awarded project presentations. The CCG delegation visited ISDWorks! the main makerspace afterwards to see Professor Rob Scharff's team demonstration of robotic arm applications. They also visited Conference Lodge, a Nina Group hotel on campus, for an integrative smart solution prepared by ISD student team “GreenHub”. Ar Donald Choi was delighted to see the synergetic collaboration between business and academia, and he expressed his anticipation for the further development of the smart solution for the sake of resource efficiency.
