The research team led by Prof. XU Xian, Research Assistant Professor of the Division of Arts and Machine Creativity (AMC) and Division of Emerging Interdisciplinary Areas (EMIA), won the Best Paper Honorable Mention Award at the IEEE Conference on Virtual Reality and 3D User Interfaces (IEEE VR) 2025.
Co-authored by AIS Dean and EMIA Head Prof. QU Huamin, EMIA Chair Professor Prof. HUI Pan, WEI Zheng studying PhD in Individualized Interdisciplinary Program (IIP), other PhD students SUN Jia and LIAO Junxiang, and members from other universities, the award-winning research paper titled "Illuminating the Scene: How Virtual Environments and Learning Modes Shape Film Lighting Mastery in Virtual Reality" presents the impact of virtual environments and collaboration on learning film lighting techniques in VR education. It offers insights into optimizing VR environments to enhance learning outcomes in both individual and collaborative settings.
