The Academy of Interdisciplinary Studies (AIS) organized a team building program at Ocean Park on Feb 17, 2024 (Sat), bringing together 32 AIS undergraduates to connect peers across our UG programs and foster the development of their communication and teamwork skills.
The day kicked off with icebreaking activities, setting the stage for the subsequent team-building challenges. The first challenge focused on team coordination, where participants had to rescue "threatened sea creatures" from a fishing net in the shortest time possible. Creative communication took the spotlight next as the students had to deliver a special message to teammates on the exciting rides using a non-verbal approach. Lastly, students faced a challenge on trust and empathy, where blindfolded teammates had to depend on instructions from other teammates to retrieve "pollutants" from a "pond" using given tools.
After the challenges, students gathered for a debriefing session to discuss the valuable lessons learned and their real-life applications. The day concluded with a lunch at the aquarium restaurant and free time to explore the Park's wonders.
We hope our students have had a delightful time forging new friendships and connecting through shared experiences.
