Our T&M-DDP graduate Darren CHIU, and IIP students FUNG Ka Yan Gabby alongside FUNG Kwong Chiu have been recognized at the Hong Kong ICT Awards this year, for their innovative solutions that meet business and social needs.
Darren CHIU, a Class of 2013 graduate of the Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management (T&M-DDP), co-founded a technology career platform TalentLabs which has received ICT Startup (Software and Apps) Gold Award. The judging panel commented that TalentLabs’ comprehensive platform “demonstrates their attention to "Functionality" and the needs of their users and find the gaping in between the demand and supply”.
Two PhD in Individualized Interdisciplinary Program (IIP) students FUNG Ka Yan Gabby and FUNG Kwong Chiu have bagged Student Innovation (Postgraduate or above) Bronze Award with their “AI Robot for SENs”. With the aim of providing an efficient training solution for students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) to overcome their early-stage learning obstacles, Gabby and Kwong Chiu have applied various technology including artificial intelligence, the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) method, data visualization, empathic design methodology, and scaffolding skills to develop the system. Over 100 students from local primary schools have benefited from using the AI robot till now.
Many congratulations to Darren, Gabby, and Kwong Chiu for the well-deserved acclamation!
