The 3rd HKUST Faculty Recognition Ceremony was held on 13 July 2021 to acknowledge and applaud the outstanding research and teaching achievements of the University’s faculty members in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 academic years. Prof. King Lun YEUNG from Division of Environment and Sustainability (ENVR), Prof. Richard SO and Prof. Pan HUI, Affiliated Faculty of the Individualized Interdisciplinary Major (IIM) Program were among the honorees to receive the award. Prof. King Lun YEUNG and Prof. Richard SO are recognized for their outstanding contributions to the fight against COVID-19 and Prof. Pan HUI is commended for being elected as International Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2020 and Member of Academia Europaea (the Academy of Europe) in 2019.

Prof. King Lun YEUNG gave a short talk to share the sustainable ways to build a healthy environment. He believes that environment has an important impact on health, not only in terms of pollution and contaminants. He shared his team’s works  in the laboratory that is related to environmental health technologies in the areas of microbes, air and water. He would like to thank again the generous support of the University and ENVR towards his research work in fighting against COVID-19.
