At the beginning of every academic year, Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management (T&M-DDP) holds a survival camp for its new students admitted from JUPAS, direct entry and major selection to improve their leadership skills by completing various tasks at the wilderness. This year, nearly 50 students survived and felt accomplished in the survival camp held on 8-10 September 2017 at Sai Wan, Sai Kung.

The training allows students to explore current thinking on groups and leadership, giving them a framework within which to interpret their own experiences of leading and being led. Students were consistently encouraged to step out of their comfort zones to complete many tasks like sea kayaking, canyoning, surfing etc.. By overcoming those challenges, students acquired the ability to give, receive and critically assess constructive feedback; built self-confidence, particularly in new or unfamiliar settings; and were able to utilize feedback to build higher performing groups.
