The Summer Internship Closing Ceremony, organized by the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) was held successfully on 11 August 2017, indicating that the AA Summer Internship Program 2017 finally came to an end. Three IPO students from the Risk Management and Business Intelligence Program (RMBI) and the Environmental Management and Technology Program (EVMT), together with four other HKUST students selected for the Program had a fruitful experience in this eight-week internship and gave their project presentation in the ceremony.
The AA Summer Internship Program 2017 provided students with an opportunity to experience AAHK’s unique working environment and let them have a taste of working in the aviation industry. Aside from engaging them in the Hong Kong International Airport’s daily operation, series of well-structured training courses, workshops, site visit were conducted to help students equip themselves with essential employment skills and keep themselves abreast of the latest job market information. All participants, selected from the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and HKUST, broadened their horizons without doubt.
One of the highlights was the final project presentation. Different topics of way to enhance Hong Kong International Airport services and operations, which are various key focuses of AAHK, were assigned to different teams of interns. AAHK aimed to acquire creative thoughts from youngsters via these projects while outstanding ideas may be taken into consideration. By the end of the Internship Program, students gave presentation to executive directors, head of departments, and interns’ supervisors in the Internship Closing Ceremony. Faculty members from the participating universities were invited to witness the achievements of students at the Ceremony. All teams of interns gave outstanding presentation and shared various innovative ideas.
This Summer Internship would be a cornerstone to students to stretching their potential. We wish them every success.
