AIS Welcome Party 2026: Taking the First Step Beyond Boundaries
04/09/2026

The Academy of Interdisciplinary Studies (AIS) celebrated the arrival of a vibrant new cohort of undergraduates and postgraduates at its Welcome Party on August 31, 2026. Bringing together students, faculty, and staff from diverse Divisions and programs, the day marked the beginning of an exciting journey of exploration and inspiration.

The event commenced with welcoming remarks from Prof. QU Huamin, Dean of AIS, encouraging students to explore their full potential here where diverse minds and fields connect. Building on this welcoming spirit, students were introduced to a range of support and opportunities, including warm greetings from our faculty members, wellness resources, global exchange opportunities, and the Student Ambassador (SA) Program, and familiarized themselves with AIS through an interactive quiz.

The gathering was also a proud moment to honor and celebrate the exceptional achievements of our students who demonstrated outstanding commitment and contributions to the AIS SA program and the wider community in 2025/26:

AIS Outstanding Community Service Award

AIS Outstanding SA Awards (in alphabetical order by surname)

(Year of study as at August 31, 2026)

To foster connection and highlight the interdisciplinary spirit of AIS, students participated in interactive mass games around the campus to build teamwork and friendship. To make the day even more memorable, students received exclusive AIS souvenirs as keepsakes to commemorate this milestone and their first step into the AIS community.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the new students who joined us, as well as the faculty, staff, and student helpers whose dedication and support made the event a success!
