Prof. ZHU Pengyu, Professor of the Division of Public Policy (PPOL), has been awarded over $850,000 in funding under the Public Policy Research Funding Scheme (PPRFS) 2025–26.
His project, titled “Enhancing the Implementation of ‘One University, Two Campuses’ and Mutual Recognition of Academic Qualifications: A Mixed-methods Study”, aims to foster academic synergy and mutual recognition of qualifications across institutions. This aligns with the broader policy goal of nurturing Hong Kong as an international hub for top-tier talent.
Administered by the Chief Executive’s Policy Unit (CEPU), the PPRFS initiative supports evidence-based research that informs education policy and taps into expertise beyond traditional higher-education institutions. This year, the scheme funded only eight projects out of 76 proposals, totaling about $5.6 million.
This award not only underscores Prof. Zhu’s leadership in policy research but also reinforces PPOL’s role in advancing forward-looking educational strategies vital to Hong Kong’s development.
