The final presentation of TEMG4950I “Urban Retrofitting Strategies for Arup” was successfully held on 5 May 2022. It marks the end of another challenging student-consulting project offered by Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management (T&M-DDP).
Although more than half of the class do not have a degree in Civil Engineering, students learned a new domain of retrofitting for decarbonization and energy-efficiency, and other Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set up by the United Nations.
Prof. Betty LIN, the course instructor and Associate Director of T&M-DDP said, “Transforming existing buildings has a key role to play in meeting net-zero carbon targets of the built environment. I was impressed how each team took a different angle to solve this challenge, from internal insulation, external evaporative cooling, BIPV panels, HVAC revamp to software automation. Thank you Arup, our project sponsor, for this inspiring case challenge and your continued support to TEMG courses!”
Many congratulations to the Winning Team, 1st Runner-up Team, and every student-consultant!
