Prof. Zhe WANG, Assistant Professor of Division of Environment and Sustainability, has been named as Excellent Young Scientist (EYS) by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).
NSFC EYS Scheme offers support to young academics, who obtained good achievements in basic research, and encourage them to focus on self-chosen area for innovative research. It aims to facilitate a rapid development of young talents in scientific technology and eventually to nurture a group of outstanding academic talents entering into the forefront of international technology. Starting from 2019, the scheme is open for direct application from academics in Hong Kong and Macau institutions.
Prof. WANG was awarded with his project “Atmospheric Heterogeneous Chemistry and Secondary Pollution”. The research will evaluate the heterogeneous interactions between urban pollutants and oceanic air, and quantify their impacts on the formation of secondary pollutions in the coastal Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area region.
